I am a…
Historian,
Musician,
Educator,
and a Spoon Evangelist.
Historian by Day,
Shantyman by Night
I’m Andreas Transo, a historian, musician, educator, and passionate "spoons evangelist!" My love for history and music runs deep, from studying Irish culture and the American Civil War to performing in traditional Irish bands. As a historian, I’ve uncovered hidden gems like the Huftill Flag, and as a musician, I’m all about sharing the joy of sea shanties and traditional ballads. When I’m not leading a shanty sing or teaching spoon playing, you can find me working with schools and festivals, blending storytelling with hands-on activities like maypole dancing and maple syrup making!
